On the corner of Central Ave and Kindel Ave in the West End of downtown Cincinnati sits the soon to be storefront location of "Cincy's first Açaí Bowl Foodtruck", BOL. At BOL Acai Bar each artisan açaí bowl is made to order with locally sourced fruit, and hand crafted granola. There are a wide range of additions, such as Nutella, peanut butter, dark cherry, raspberry, and honey. Plus you can add toppings like chia seeds, and cocoa nibs. You can build your own bowl or choose from seven signature options, each only $5. Check out BOL's menu here! A black-owned business of former preacher and stay-at-home mom, Mike and Angel, BOL started out as a pop-up at the Power Crosley, Jr. YMCA, but are now on the journey to opening up a brick-and-mortar location on Central. Read more about their story here! Hopeful future storefront location, just two doors down from the current curbside pickup. HELP GETTING THERE During the time of COVID-19, BOL is currently doing orders and curbside pickups. However, Sammy and I found finding the place to be a little difficult. Luckily, welcoming and hospitable Mike called down to us from an upstairs window, making us jump but subsequently saving us from our confused state. Here are some directions to hopefully make it clearer for everyone to reach! When you arrive at the Google Maps location, you can park across the street along this wall or on a side street. You'll see their old food truck parked out front and behind it a painted wall with some colorful concrete benches to wait on. Once you've ordered online, Mike sends you a personal text with the status. Angel will then come down to deliver your BOL through this door! I hope you give BOL a try and love this delicious, affordable, and local black-owned business as much as we do! How do you açaí?
